Best example of a workout warrior imo was Mike Mamula. He was the first who actually trained for the combine.
Mel Kiper fell in love and considered him the 2nd coming of Deacon Jones. He's the reason I don't put much stock
in Kipers opinion.
I remember a funny story about Earl Campbell. The Oilers had a drill where a runner sprinted 10 yards forward,turned
and sprinted 10 yards backwards until he completed a square. Earl kept falling down when running in reverse. An
asst. coach told HC Bum Phillips. Phillips quipped "Son, we ain't paying him to run Backwards :)
