There are still some valuable NFL veterans left to be picked from free agency this year, including LSU Tiger and Kansas City Chief safety Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu.
It is not surprising to see the Honey Badger still waiting for a team to give him enough money to sign a long-term deal. Mathieu has had history of looking to either get a large salary contract or keep his money. He spent five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals and was cut because he refused to take a pay cut. After one season with the Houston Texans in 2018, Mathieu signed a three-year, $42 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he became an instant leader on the Chiefs' defense.
There was speculation that Mathieu was open to re-signing with the Chiefs, but their salary cap this off-season did not work out in their favor. Now, Mathieu is open to teams that are willing to pay him and make a big Super Bowl run. Two teams that fit that description are the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints.
