Where there's smoke there's fire.

I think there is at least one, maybe two or three, QBs in this class that the Saints really like. I don't think it's at the trade into the top 10 or top 5 level like. That would be love. But, I think if one of those guys is there at #16 or #19 they will take him. I think when they traded to get two 1st round picks, the plan was to be able to get two starters that were likely to be at LT and WR. But, I think they felt that they would be good with whoever fell to those spots including some of the QBs, DTs, a Safety, and DEs.

I don't know who that QB is. I don't see a guy outside of Pickett and Willis that I think would be worth the #16 pick, but I'm just a fan and the scouts, Loomis, Ireland and the coaching staff know better than me. The guys I think fit what they want are probably Pickett, Willis, Ridder, and Howell. Maybe Coral too. And, I definitely think they would take a QB in the 2nd if the right one is there. Or even trade up higher in the 2nd to get a QB.
I had a similar thought, that maybe they've ranked the quarterbacks available about the same, so they've put themselves in position see if one falls to them in the teens and will then consider taking who's left. That way they could draft a quarterback of the future while still getting (hopefully) an immediate impact guy at another position.

My preference would be to go OT and either DT or WR in the first, and then if they want to take a quarterback look in round 2 or 3 (Sam Howell, Desmond Ridder).
