If anything that would potentially put more urgency on getting a first round quarterback this year. Perhaps the Saints like Winston enough to commit to him for two years, but if that was the case then why not commit longer?

What i think is going to happen is if Winston performs well he will get an extension. The year at the end of this contract can then be used to spread out the money.

No matter how you slice it Saints need a top prospect offensive lineman and a WR. IF saints use 16th pick on QB, then they will have to find either of those options in the bottom of the second. Which is very hard to find. It will not be until 2024 when Saints have shot landing a top player.
