Saints draft WR Chris Olave

Everything we gave up was for Olave. We could've taken Penning at 18 without making any trades. I know it sounds better to say we got both players for all of that. But all of the extra picks we gave up is what got us Olave.
I'll disagree with you there. The Philly trade was done before the draft, so no one knew how that would play out on draft day. I think they did want a WR and OT in the first in this draft as most predicted. I think the Saints got nervous when they saw WR go early and figured a run was coming, so they jumped up to get Olave. His cost was probably more than Penning if I were to guess. But, again, you'd have to untangle both trades.

Not all of those extra picks can be attributed to Olave (only the Washington trade picks) plus some unknown amount of value in the Philly trade. Again, I'd say that is hard to untangle. It's a 3 player for 7 seven trade including a lot of relatively high picks.
