Saints draft WR Chris Olave
my favorite part about Olave is his ability to create separation with his route running. One of the main reasons is because of his insane acceleration. As far as the combine goes, he’s in the top 99.6% for 10 yard dash and top 99.8% for the 20 yard dash all time.
The best way I could describe da players in our monster 2017 draft was :
“NFL READY”!
IMO, Chris Olave IS an “NFL READY “ WR! But it also comes with a bit of a “caveat” as to where he would go, n the kinda O he’d play in.
That said, playin here is a nice fit for him! Our passing O was poo last year. But this season, we’ll have both Jameis AND esp Mike Thomas back! If all goes well with dat duo, a healthy, nasty, productive Mike alone is gonna make our entire WR group better! So I look for things to open up more for Quez n Deonte.
Now, add in Chris Olave to dat mix. After Deonte, he’d b our fastest WR in dat group. But in da 3 n 4 WR sets, I look for the rook to use his smarts, speed n route running to find holes n “set down” against zone, and/or win against man coverage!
N don’t worry too much about Olave having to go against dat vaunted NFL press man coverage for now. We’ll likely use him mostly as a “Z” receiver, which means he’ll line up off the line. So he’ll have a lil extra space to work wit n hopefully beat his man.
Bottom line, I think we got a good player!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
