Giants official out of running for GM job

While the Falcons continued their search for a new head coach in Jacksonville on Thursday, New York Giants vice president of player evaluation Chris Mara withdrew from consideration for the Falcons' general manager vacancy.

"I want to thank [owner] Arthur Blank for his interest in me, and we had a very good discussion earlier this week in Atlanta," Mara said in a one-paragraph statement released by the Giants. "However, I am no longer a candidate for the position."

Mara cited no reason for his decision to withdraw. Full Story – Journal-Constitution
