Post-Draft Kevin White thoughts

I had one of those deep thought moments regarding our WR corps. We were rougher than fresh sandpaper last season. And if you were like me, the drops, miscues, bad routes, etc. had you punching air like Cuba Gooding Jr in Boyz in the Hood. Fast forward today (a week after the 1st Round), and we have a level of speed that we haven't had in years with Olavé. Then I thought about something: what can we get out of Kevin White?

Now before you think I'm crazy or drunk (unfortunately I am not neither at the moment), just heard me out. I know that last season was an attempt to revive his career and help him shed the bust label. But we didn't have the personnel that we do now. And with the possible signing of Jarvis, does this actually help us out in the way we didn't anticipate? I mean, if he's on the field he will be facing either a nickel corner or at max, a safety?
All of our pass catchers benefit from having CGM back and drafting Olave. It will be interesting to see who makes the roster, but those who do will find defenses much easier to navigate and DBs that are a bit easier to beat.

White could possibly take a step, but if I recall correctly, it's his hands that's held him back more than anything else. Remember last year when he caught that pass? Dude jumped up after the play and celebrated like he just won the game.

I hope he does suddenly become the player everybody thought he'd be coming out of college. He's a Saint so I pull for him. I'll just say that his chance is rather small. Some of our back-list and UDFA WRs have a good shot at pushing him off the roster.
