Had it been a Ukrainian patch a yellow band would have been 1/2 of the size of the patch, and at the bottom not the top, and because it would have been yellow it wouldn't have shown up as much as a white strip in the gloom.
The fellows at one point talked to each other a bit and they were speaking Russian. I thought so, and so did Illia Ponomarenko the fellow who posted the video. This is his tweet which followed his tweet of the video:

I made that out to be a Russian patch. In the gloom only the white strip on top showed. Notice that the white strip made up only 1//3 of the size of the patch.
