What do we do with Trequan Smith?

Lol, yeah, TQS struggled that who hame! BUT in Smith’s defense, it was his first game back after missing significant time in TC, n thru the first 5 games of the regular season.

Meanwhile, whether u liked Jameis or not, we ALL got to see a “different side” of Winston we’d never seen before! He went OFF on TQS, n showed some ANGER n PASSION! But later, he went back to TQS for a critical catch, and afterwards , Winston shrugged off the incident, sayn it was jus part of the game.

The very next week, he went back to TQS in the 1st quarter for a big TD catch against TB! :

For now, I’m good with keepin TQS for a few reasons. He’s probably the most versatile WR we have n can play all 3 spots. He knows the system. He can block. We got him back for cheap. And last offseason, he n Winston spent lotsa time working out together. So there MIGHT b a lil chemistry in place to build on.

Personally, I like goin into TC with MT, Jarvis, CO, Quez, Deonte, n TQS as our top 6 WR core. It’s a nice blend of physicality n quickness/speed. We also have lotsa other WRs who’ll get a look see n a chance to make the team. IF they can beat out TQS, so b it.

We’ll see.
See, these are the issues I have when people regurgitate this kind of stuff. IF he was so versatile, then why has he not taken the next step? Versatility could allow coaches to create mismatches for you. He’s not a mismatch for any defender. He struggled with the playbook his rookie year and I still think he has issues with it. Idc if he can block. That guy (in particular) needs to be a viable threat in the passing game before anything. I personally expect 90% of WRs in the league to be decent blockers max. If they are more than decent blockers, then that’s an added bonus, on top of how they perform as a pass catcher. Dude has been on our team for 4 years and really hasn’t made any kind of impact. For a team that has dominated the NFC South, with SB aspirations, had he taken another step, then maybe we could have gotten further than we did each year. Don’t care if he’s cheap, he is lucky to have a gotten that cheap contract.
