The Obama vs Clinton War of Words Heats Up

Personally, I think this tactic is less about black voters and more about Latinos and the working class white rank-and-file Democrats. A black person can't win as the black candidate. No minority can win as the candidate that represents their minority group. If they can successfully box him in, or are successful at driving up his negatives, they will seriously damage him.

They have a history in this campaign, however, of going too far. The Sheehan comment followed by Mark Penn's "cocaine" comment damaged Clinton.

Back to Hispanics, I think there is a feeling that they will not vote for a black person and especially someone who they are constantly reminded is black. That is huge in states like California and Texas.
