Scam Calls and Emails

Yeah! Same here. Norton, Apple, McAfee, Intuit, etc. They do "look" legit, and I could see where they would fool some people.

At least a couple of times a month my wife will ask me if an email offer that she received is legit because "This is a great deal". I always tell her to look at the message headers for the actual senders email address.

I'm like "You know, J.C. Penny hasn't declined to the point where they are sending out marketing email from J.C.Penny45107blahblah@gmail.com".

Lot's of fake merchandise sites on the net that actually show up in google searches for items. I always look for the blue "Trusted store" check marks in the search results and stick to buying from those stores.

I never really considered the trusted store mark. Thanks for the tip. I have bought stuff off Amazon that turned out to be knockoff. Now, if it is something that matters, I always buy from the Ship/Sold by Amazon now.
