COVID-19 Outbreak Information Updates (Reboot) [over 150.000,000 US cases (est.), 6,422,520 US hospitilizations, 1,148,691 US deaths.]

Where did you see that? Everything I read says it's too early to tell, if it will overtake BA.5. And in the US, it's not even in the radar yet (It's here, but not in meaningful numbers yet).

It was in a long article I read last week. Multiple virologists tracking the strains stated concern by the speed in which 2.75 has spread to so many countries combined with the type of mutations on the spike protein that make it favorable for rapid spread and overtake. They aren't worried about it being dominant right now because it takes a while for new strains to get a footing, particularly when a strain early in it's stages like BA5 are causing a surge. They said it checks all the boxes to become the dominant strain they are really concerned about it specifically for the fall/winter surge in the US in a few months. Really early though.
