I did too, and they were right, but I still think Jameis and the coaches need to be looking at the clock. I remember watching like 'well shoot, why is he spiking it the clock stopped'?
I do think they had plenty of time to run another play instead of spiking it on 3rd down, and if they did decide that's as far as they wanted to go, at least wait until 3-4 seconds to spike.
