They regularly "spoof" phone numbers. The best thing to do is not redial directly to the number on your phone. Manually dial the number and you will get the correct contact, in this case the actual Sheriff's Office. The number that shows on your caller ID is not always the actual number they are calling from.
I got a spam call from my own number once! Imagine seeing your own number pop up on the caller ID. Maybe it was by accident, but maybe they intentionally used my number.
But if it was by accident, man, 7 identical numbers matching...I should have bought a lotto ticket that day.
