Welp we lost Murray to the Broncos

When would you have preferred for us to offer more money and playing time to LT? Was it when 31 other teams had ignored him up until yesterday or before he started to binge “Stranger Things”, while on his coach for the entire Summer?

The way Practice Squad rules go, apparently, we couldn’t offer LT another contract until Tuesday, which is today. Had Mickey given a rusty 32 old RB#2/3 a starting salary, before he played a game for us this board would’ve erupted. The front office had the foresight to pick LT up in the first place. What they didn’t predict was that Denver’s prominent back would blow his knee.

Furthermore, why would the office offer a non blocking, non catching RB more playing time than the versatile backs already on our roster? I love LT, but he’s limited as an RB. He’s a liability in blitz pick up and can’t be used consistently in the pass game. His value is strictly in running the rock. He looked fresh b/c he was fresh. He had no Training Camp nor traditional off season. At 32, he could very well look ancient by his 3rd game. At the very least, our other top two backs offer other abilities.

I get that we aren’t where most of us had hoped the team would be win wise. But many of these critiques have been mostly emotional and absent of facts.

Where is the starting money?
