Per Rotoworld:Roy Williams-WR-Lions

We currently have 6 recievers on our roster, Colston, Meachem, Patten, Henderson, Moore, Copper.

Only 2 are under contract for the 2008 season IIRC. Colston and Meachem.

In my eyes we need to resign Colston to a long term deal. We should keep Patten, Moore and Copper. That means we have 5 recievers.

For our offense to work efficiently through injuries etc, we need 6 WRs with 1 playing on special teams.

There's no question that Drew makes any reciever look good. I am all for drafting a 4th or 5th rounder for Drew to make look like a superstar.

Still, if I have the choice of: A 4th round pick to draft (random example) Hawaii's Davone Bess (a very good reciever), or trade a 2nd round pick for Chad Johnson or Roy Williams there is no hesitation.

4 Wide: Colston Williams Meachem Patten. Drew Brees throwing it to them. *Drool*

Well instead of just grabbing any WRs and Drew making them look good, why not for a change we grab good WRs and have Drew make them look great?:dunno:

Sounds like that's the difference between playoffs and 7-9.

We need to offload Copper and Henderson. Make a deal for one of those top receivers if at all possible.

That's one of the differences between us and the Pats. Our team wants to stand pat with the receivers we have just because it's working. Patriots had a great passing attack last year, but they didn't settle and improved it even more with Randy Moss. Now look where they are. We can't just settle. Our offense isn't good enough yet.
