Lord of the Rings Series -- Amazon

Is there a reason that TV/Movie writing has been getting worse in recent years? Is there a diluted talent pool in that craft? I doubt that's the case. It just seems like there's a lot content but most of it is mediocre at best. It's all about splash and I love splash. But there's not a lot of meat to it.

And I know that it's always been a fact that most of what's on television is garbage but even the big productions from the studios (I'm looking at you Disney and Amazon) are turning out utter carp. Pretty carp but carp nonetheless. (And very expensive)

HoT D is doing it right so far. If they screw this up they'll never live it down.
