In defense of Allen (gulp)

I want to know why he gets blamed for the bad tackling. These are grown men, professionals, that have been playing this game for a while. Does he really need to sit them down in a meeting room, tell them not to eat the crayons, and then go over tackling 101 again with them?
If that is what it takes then yes. Defense is about stopping the Offense and Tackling is the main focus for doing that. But it also comes down to players being in game shape (tired players = bad form, judgement, and tackling). IMO a lot of this has to do with the new contact rules for practice in the bargaining agreement. Players are only allowed so many padded contact practices and it shows on game day.
