In defense of Allen (gulp)

To some degree, I agree with the OP. Allen has been dealt a bad hand in terms of injuries so far and that's hard for any coach to overcome. I think he also lacks, at least so far, the connection with the fan base Payton established right away. Payton didn't just inspire the team, he inspired the city and that's something few coaches can do.
