• The North squad is where the New Orleans Saints need to be looking to improve defensively. I was most impressed with North Carolina defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer. The 6-foot-5, 282-pounder is rock solid and could be moving up the draft board. But no one will get a glimpse of Balmer the rest of the week as a hamstring injury will force him out of practice the rest of the week, including Saturday's game.

• USC defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis reminds me of a younger Hollis Thomas - body-type and all. Although Ellis (6-1, 307) struggled slightly at the beginning of Monday's practice, Ellis quickly improved. By the end of Monday's session he displayed why he could be off the board by the time the Saints pick. Tuesday was no different for Ellis as he may leave one of the biggest winners of Senior Bowl week. Full Story - Sun-Herald
