New Orleans hires Orgeron as D-line coach

It was the worst-kept secret at Senior Bowl practices this week: The New Orleans Saints were interested in Ed Orgeron, and the former Ole Miss coach was interested in them.

After a couple of days of flirting with Saints coach Sean Payton and other team personnel behind closed doors, the new relationship was made official Wednesday. Orgeron, fired in November after three years as Ole Miss' head coach, was hired as the Saints' new defensive line coach. Terms of his agreement with the NFC South franchise were not disclosed.

However, Orgeron received a $1.2 million buyout from Ole Miss this month, athletic director Pete Boone told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger Wednesday. Full Story – Press-Register
