Long winter gives Saints time to plan

If all had gone well, today is the day the New Orleans Saints would have climbed aboard a chartered plane bound for the Phoenix, Ariz., area and Super Bowl XLII.

A popular pick last summer to claim the NFC crown after coming up one game short a year ago, the Saints’ season never really got off the ground, however, after an 0-4 start helped push them to a 7-9 finish.

So instead of spending the month of January trying to get to Phoenix, the Saints’ front office, coaches and scouts were left to look for answers and plot their course for 2008 and Super Bowl XLIII.

Which is what they will be doing all this week while the New England Patriots and New York Giants are getting down to business in Arizona. Full Story – Advocate
