Jeff Duncan on Sean Payton 2023

Some people keep talking about rosters and franchise QB's . I don't know how many times SP can say it. It's not that much about the roster. It's about the FO wanting to win and knowing what it takes to do that. He said I don't what to go someplace and think how good of an owner and FO I ad in N.O.
While the chargers have a lot to offer Spanos still owns them. Cheap ineffective FO. AZ has the crazy cheap Bidwells. I don't see an opening that SP would really go for.
The only owner and FO that he knows has what he wants is US.
That makes the DA decision matter a whole lot. Fire or demote DA and I think we become the front runner.

And there's the elephant in the picture. While I really don't like him with his whining and the preferential treatment he gets, Brady is a FA. He and SP have tried to work together in the past. I doubt Tampa franchise tags him.
I know it sounds crazy but just think how much it would burn in Godell's throat to have the darling boy in a Saints uni.
All this.

First thing that needs to happen is Allen getting fired.

Then it will come down to which other jobs are available.

-Rams are concerning because they’ve proven they’re willing to operate like the Saints: going all-in. If McVay decides he’s burned out, this would be hard for SP to turn down (it would also be worst case scenario for us since they don’t have a first round pick).

-Chargers are concerning bc of Herbert. But will they give SP the power he wants? And if they make the playoffs, will they fire Staley anyway?

-Cardinals were rumored and Payton spoke glowingly about Kyler and being a Cardinals ball boy.

Dallas if they fire McCarthy? Would Jones give SP the power he wants?

Maybe if Tomlin decided to walk away in Pittsburgh? KC if Reid retires?

Beyond that, hard to see many other fits.
