Andy Dalton is PFF’s 2nd highest graded passer this season

I think that this is where most people should be: Dalton is a good backup, he is not a good starter. He won’t win you games on his own, but he can get you through a stretch where your starter is out. He can also get you through a stretch where you need a bridge for the future QB. And yes, he would have more success with Payton here, because Payton learned from Parcells, the coach that told his QB “If you don’t throw two interceptions today, I’ll be P'Oed.”
Well that's the thing. He was brought here to be a back up. People act like he needs to play up to the standard "franchise qb" but to me he played well enough. He isn't a franchise quarterback and someone you can ride on regardless of deficiencies on other areas like Brees. Guys like Dalton at this stage in his career requires all areas to play well, including the coaching staff. Unfortunately, defense has become a weakness and our coaching has ben abysmal. Penalties and turnovers....
