Andy Dalton is PFF’s 2nd highest graded passer this season

Well that's the thing. He was brought here to be a back up. People act like he needs to play up to the standard "franchise qb" but to me he played well enough. He isn't a franchise quarterback and someone you can ride on regardless of deficiencies on other areas like Brees. Guys like Dalton at this stage in his career requires all areas to play well, including the coaching staff. Unfortunately, defense has become a weakness and our coaching has ben abysmal. Penalties and turnovers....
I don’t think anyone is expecting Dalton to be a franchise QB, they just want the backup to take a seat for the starter, who is under contract next year and has at least some chance of being the future.
