Andy Dalton is PFF’s 2nd highest graded passer this season

The best throw he could would have been a check down since we had the lead.

Again, rewatch the 2nd down play. Between the pressure and personnel, It was doomed. And again, it doesn’t matter if the catch is made on 3rd down.

Drew would have checked out of the play or checked it down. We had a lead. On 2nd down, we had plenty of time to throw, all receivers had made their breaks before anyone got past our line. The ball should be out on the break. I won’t argue the play call and personnel, but throw it or throw it away. It’s not PC’s fault that he didn’t do one or the other.

It just doesn’t add up. It was a GREAT throw given the situation and playcall. It wasn’t caught. Whoever you want to “blame” or “credit.” It was in the pass-catchers hands and it wasn’t held.

It was a terrible throw given the situation, we had the lead. Get some yards on the check down and run some clock if you don’t get there. I’ve seen Dalton’s supporters celebrating him taking the sack on second to run clock but now he’s hero for throwing a pass that is incomplete nine out of ten times on third down.
