This is why when people say Payton is not worth a top 5 overall pick, I disagreed. He's a proven, well respected commodity amongst the players and immediately turns whatever team he signs with into a destination franchise. I would not be surprised at all if all the teams who passed on Payton are looking for another head coach in 2-3 years.
And we've seen how poorly ALL teams draft -- success rate fo 50% and QBs dropping to Mr. Irrelevant. A Top 5 pick for a coach like Payton IS a non-brainer. I wish the Saints could trade for him (meaning that he wanted to come back to NOLA.)
