If you truly think DA can take a team to the SuperBowl, sure tie up the cap for the next 4 years to Carr. If you're only getting better to get good enough to not get DA fired, then you need to re-assess the why you're doing what you're doing.

Sometimes you need to take a step back and ask "Why?" instead of just assuming "It makes us better, Franchise QB". LV lost with Carr...we blame it on coaching, you think DA who coached us to our talent floor W-L record can get the most out of Carr?

Except Loomis won't hang DA out to dry. He's trying to do everything he can to make him successful. No one was going to win with Dalton, his record as a loser is twice as long as DA's. Payton couldn't win with Siemian, does that make him a bad coach? If he fails and we put him in the best position to succeed then at least we can say it was all on him and clean house.

LV lost with McDaniels who got the nickname Josh Mishandles for a reason. If you're tying up cap anywhere it should be at QB. We can't compete without one. At least the next coach would have a capable QB to win with while we clear the bad contracts off the books.
