If he was a legendary/successful coach at one point and on a on a downturn, sure scratch-claw-bite your way to some level of success to keep him in house, but he's a bad head coach doing what bad head coaches do and we shouldn't allow him to prolong his bad head coaching career for the sake of prolonging his bad head coaching career.

Frankly, I don’t think that this team is a winner with Sean Payton. We were only competitive with the unique combination of a good QB, good HC, and good defense. I’m not completely convinced we have any of the above. Even if Allen was fired today, I still think we’d be looking at a lame duck coach unless we had a substantial QB upgrade, say Aaron Rodgers. I think we are 2-3 years away. It’s hard for me to root for someone to fail. I think if you hire someone, they should be given a fair shake. When we signed Allen we committed to him for 2 years. Who knows…the Saints could somehow overachieve. I’ve been a Saints fan long enough that they can do worse than Allen, and having Payton has blinded many to that.
