And if you’re not advocating bottoming out, what are you advocating? You either pay for a QB in that tier, pay $20 million for a borderline starter, or pay Andy Dalton money for…Andy Dalton.
That is your opinion. I think we can get solid enough statistical play from someone affordable and not overcommit to/over pay a mid-level QB for the same results and especially when it will make the GM more likely to give the loser HC more time to wreck things.

Fix the OL and RB situation, add another WR. Fix the DL and let Dennis show us that his defense first, power run based strategy can work. Why would he need to spend $40 million a year on a year mid-tier QB, if he is trying to win every game 17-13?
