I’ve specifically heard our elite olineman say in interviews, that they appreciated Brees because of his quick release. They were still great players, but DB absolutely helped their longevity. It’s common sense. If you only have to block a bull for two seconds compared to five, you’re less likely to get run over by said bull.. (or take friendly fire shots etc). The OLine is the MOST injured position in football. So the fact alone that DB had the same group of guys for years and years, that speaks volumes about DB.
