Semper's Stupendous to Infinity and Beyond Everything Marvel Movie/TV Thread

I was going to ask what the odds that Marvel would do a whole reboot and start from scratch with a new Iron Man, Spider man, Hulk, Thor etc.

I actually wouldn't mind a MCU set in the 1960s when all these comics were new
Yeah, keep in mind a lot of the source material from the early comics was set in the 30s and 40s. Captain America, Red Skull, Agent Carter, Howard Stark, super serum and soldiers, etc. I suppose some could originate in the 60s and be good origin stories.

I think we enjoyed the origin stories of Captain America, S.H.I.E.L.D, the Stark family, and each of the Avengers. I am somewhat surprised we never got a real Nick Fury origin story. We got bits and pieces of the Phil Coulson origin story but I would have liked more.

The thing is, I have a hard time separating the characters and the actors. Since the start of the MCU, we can count on one hand major characters who were recast. Iirc, Hulk was recast very early on, Rhodey, and I can't think of anyone else. For a franchise that has lasted as long as it has, the actors have been remarkably committed to their roles. If it's a hard reboot of everything, it would definitely be a huge change for MCU fans. Would be really risky imo.

Regardless, I'm not so sure it happens because they have years and years of movies and features before the well runs dry so to speak. I'm not sure they're near enough to an off-ramp to make that hard break.
