The Playmaker Michael Irvin Pulled from All Super Bowl Coverage/NFL Network (09/14 EDIT: Irvin settles his defamation suit w/hotel, returns to NFLN)

Michael Irvin is the kind of personality that is difficult for me to give the benefit of the doubt to like I did to Darren Sharper. Obviously I had to change my stance on that one.
When I first read the headline when it came out, it instantly reminded me of Darren Sharper, even though this is more to do with what was said than rape like Sharper actually did. When you see the actual video, then it’s like woooow this woman really lied on this man because there’s no audio for one so you instantly perceiving guilt without it. Then, the body language of the woman and Irvin doesn’t support the verbal exchanges that Irvin was alleged of saying.

The last few pages of the thread shouldn’t have even became about hypotheticals when that video footage doesn’t support what Irvin was accused of. I’m just lost at how hypotheticals began to get thrown out there to sweep that actual video showing nothing directly inappropriate by the guy under the rug.

The problem is there’s nothing direct or straightforward by Irvin and the woman in the video to support “you ever had a big man inside of you,” to the point where we have to phish or nitpick normal body language, by a person with a checkered past, to justify one’s own prejudice towards him or in general, or to double down on being wrong for believing wild accusations without evidence. None of that is based on reality of normal socializing between a man and woman. All of those responses that followed the actual video footage giving hypotheticals is based on pure prejudice and projections of personal experiences or one having social awkwardness, and that doesn’t have anything to do with the interaction between them in the video and the fact that it doesn’t support the accusations.
