I've seen some speculation that the Pershing/Coruscant stuff may be repurposed from the aborted "Rangers of the New Republic" series that got cancelled with Gina Carano got tossed. They said at some point they might work that in to the other shows. I think that one of the reasons this episode feels kind of strange is that it seems wholly unrelated to what is going on in the rest of the show, but also seems very much related to a lot of things that are being set up in the broader "Mandoverse." It wouldn't shock me if these threads are picked up in Ahsoka. And this is all clearly circling back around to Snoke and the attempts to clone Palpatine in the sequel trilogy, however you feel about that.
Anyway-
1. The New Republic isn't very good at being a functional government. This is actually something they've been specifically building across all media. They're not the Empire, but just being not the Empire isn't good enough and it's one of the reasons they'll ultimately fail.
2. "That's too many ships for an Imperial Warlord." Thrawn? Either way, always great to see TIE Interceptors. Always been my favorite TIE variant.
3. Bo-Katan accidentally joined an extremist cult. Interesting that she kept that Mythosaur info to herself. She's going to make a powerplay at some point.
