The Mandalorian discussion thread

With the timeline being what it is, the appearance of Zeb, the anticipation of the Ahsoka series, Thrawn being in the works of that show (and possibly this one), some fanboy part of me is wishing that Favreau and Filoni are setting things up to give us a cinematic rendering of Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire trilogy.
I know it isn't likely, but all the elements are in place to do it, including the "deep fake" technology to have Luke, Leia, Han, etc. from the original films in the filmed version of it.
Obviously, there would be some added characters that didn't exist in the canon when Zahn wrote it (Ezra, Ahsoka, Zeb, Din Djarin, Bo Katan, and a few others), but it wouldn't be terribly difficult to write them into the narrative.
I know it's a stretch and most likely just a fantasy on my part that we'll ever see it put to film, but the opportunity is right there now.
