I don’t just want the parts of the books excised or combined from the books; I’d rather our trio fade into the background a bit and see this whole story from other characters’ perspectives
Like imagine Goblet told mostly from Cho’s pov
Or a season focused primarily on quidditch and all the weird stuff is background
Or what about hermoine’s muggle parents dealing with having a magical kid

That would be cool but the movies left soooo much out that hasn't been brought to life. It would feel like these other angles, while very interesting, sorta skipped the line. There's book canon that's integral to the plot that wasn't touched at all in the movies. Seems wrong to ignore that while pursuing plots that would be basically new material much like Wicked does for the Wizard of Oz. The difference here though is the Wizard of Oz story had been told completely in stage or film by the time Wicked made its debut.

The movies were great but they suffered from being started before the ending was known (not as badly as GoT for sure, but still). The filmmakers didn't know Jenny Weasley would be an important character or that they were giving us the first glimpses of horcruxes. I'm excited to see the details that can be put into a fully known world. A world where fantastic beasts have been fleshed out and known former Death Eaters are real characters from the start.
