The Mandalorian discussion thread

I know I'm late, but can someone explain the justification these two gave for why these 2 Mandalorians can help them and not the other Mandalorians that were already there? I've watched the episode twice now but I still don't get it. You're in charge, but you have democratically elected laws in place. Okay, got it. Arms aren't allowed into the city, but you let Bo-Katan and Din Djarin into the city. Mandalorians can't come in, but they can? Why? Their explanation just seemed like word soup more than an explanation.
I think it was more a separation of military vs. police. The "Mandalorians" outside the walls were basically a military force paid to protect from external threats. Din was an unattached private contractor.

It's like Adama said, "There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."
