This is A Great Draft for the Saints - all 7 picks

Regardless, I’m suggesting it’s way too premature to even suggest it being comparable to 2006 or 2017. I hardly see that as insulting - especially not compared to the responses I’ve gotten regarding the Kendre Miller pick.

Too early, sure. I don't disagree. But this is draft day, comparing to past drafts is kinda natural. We look at the potential and see how that maps out in a perfect world.

in 2017 there were lots of people being real pissy about that draft at the time, especially Kamara. It ended up being one of the best draft classes by a single team in NFL history. All players drafted ended up contributing in the NFL in a noticeable way, both Defensive and Offensive ROYs, and multiple starters early.

Looking at this year, there are some similarities. two defensive players in the first two rounds that will have a chance to contribute enough to be in ROY consideration, a RB that has the toll set to make noise THIS year especially with a Kamara facing a long suspension that could get som ROY looks... and players that are less projects and more likely viable depth to make the roster.

There is real similarities between both drafts. It is highly unlikely we reach that level of success with this class, its almost impossible for ANY team to draft as well as we did in 2017... but its not absurd to have that conversation today of all days.
