This is A Great Draft for the Saints - all 7 picks

This is turning into an absolutely great Saints draft...

1 - Bryan Bresee - DT - He is athletic, is very smart, has long arms and great size and size potential, a quick 1st step, is naturally strong and powerful, and has a high upside.
2 - Isaiah Foskey - He is athletic, is very smart, has great size and length, has a great 1st step, already good pass rusher, and high upside.
3 - Kendre Miller - He has awesome balance and lower body strength, is very smart, has good vision, has quick feet, and high upside.
4 - Nick Saldiveri - He is smart, athletic, has great length and feet to play T or G, has ideal size and size potential, can play anywhere on the line, and a high upside.
4 - Jake Haener - He is very smart, has a quick release, is accurate, is athletic with great pocket awareness, has good to very good arm strength, and he has high upside.
5 - Jordan Howden - He is very smart, fast, athletic, has ideal size, and has a ton of experience at both safety and corner. He has 49 career starts in the Big 10.
6 - A.T. Perry - At 6'4 and 200lbs, he was generally predicted to be a 2nd or 3rd round pick that we get in the 6th. He is fast, smart, athletic, and has a high upside. His drops dropped him down most boards Pardon the pun. He is literally a steal.

This is impressive.
Breese - pretty high floor high ceiling. Had he not had the injury issues and missed time due to illness and tragedy, he'd have been in the same discussions as Carter I think. Love the pick.

Foskey - seems like a solid, safe, boring pick. The kind of player you draft when you "must" completely rebuild your DL in one offseason. I like the pick.

Miller - There were RBs available that I liked more, mostly due to well written and flattering scouting reports. Reading his best attributes, he sounds like a dang good pick up. He unseated starter Zach Evans to the point where Evans transferred to Ole' Miss. Evans was also drafted this year, albeit a couple rounds later. Solid pick with evidently some pretty decent upside.

Saldiveri - A big, athletic offensive lineman that can play all 5 positions drafted in the 4th round. Saints like those do-it-al O-linemen So his floor is "first man off the bench". His ceiling is we can let Peat or Ruiz walk after this season and not have a hole in our OL. Smart pick with tremendous upside.

Haener - Tied with Stetson Bennet (who the Rams drafted with the very next pick) for my two favorites outside the guys being discussed as 1st round prospects. Totally boom or bust, but at least our staff seems to have learned that you don't wait until you need a QB to start looking at QBs. I totally respect the pick.

Howden - DB depth / Special teams... Did anyone really believe Dennis Allen would let a draft go by without at least bringing in one DB? That's kind of DA's kink... having too many DBs. Hopefully he pans out. Making the team and seeing the field in 2023 would qualify him as a success. Anything past that is lagniappe, and late 4th round is a nice place to throw a dart. I'm wait and see with this one, but you can't argue it's not smart shopping.

AT Perry - Watched an interview with him and all he wanted to talk about was training and training methods and how he likes to work on all aspects of being a WR and is always looking for new drills and exercises to improve his game. His only serious knocks? Dropsies and run blocking. Well, he can learn some hand-yoga from MT to improve one of those issues. Eating some oyster po-boys could put the meat on his bones he's going to need to have success at the next level. His biggest obstacle barring injury is having MT, Olave, and Rasheed ahead of him on the depth chart from the jump. It wouldn't surprise me to find out we had a 2nd or 3rd round grade on him. Dice roll, but a dice roll I'm behind all the way.
