Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Discussion

I'd be more interested in a consciousness upload were I to die and be reborn in a clone, though the ramifications would fall into the same precarious situation as previously mentioned with that scenario, too.
But would it really be your consciousness or just an AI generated version of it? Would the AI just basically guess at what it thinks you would do based on your upload? How would it really decide what you would say and do? Would it follow your base instincts or would it opt for what it perceives as the "right" decision? Would it let "you" make real human mistakes so that "you" can learn from those mistakes? If it does, how does it know when your decisions have gone too far? Would it be able then to prevent you from making those really bad decisions? If so, then does your consciousness truly have free will or are you really now just the slave of the AI and/or the people who programmed it? Is there a way that people can then control and manipulate "you" to do their bidding? Would anybody even truly know if it was really you?
