I never paid much attention to what was said about him. He didn’t start taking off until he played with a great QB in his 8th season. He had avg-below avg QBs in Tennessee and St. Louis before that. He finally looked like a really good TE once he played with Carr and Brees and got targets. Those targets still wasn’t enough compared to what top TEs get. His second/last season with Carr is when he was finally targeted at a high rate and made his first Pro Bowl that year
