Saints sign WR James Washington to one year deal (released on August 15)
Last season is an outlier because he had McDaniels as Head Coach.
Every time McDaniels leaves New England he ruins a franchise and throws the QB under the Bus.
His rating in 2021 was 94, and in 2020 and 2019 he had ratings over 100. But you said he needed to perform better than in recent years. Outside of having McDaniels as Head coach he has performed very well.
I have watched him a lot thank you. Okay, so we won't include last year since it's all McDaniels fault.
Carr averages:
3522 yards, 24 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 0 playoff wins.
Again, I never said Derek Carr was a bad Quarterback. The point I was making, is for the Saints to make the playoffs and maybe even win a playoff game, he has to elevate his game. Why does that seem to be something you can't comprehend?
If he stayed at the saints for another 9 years and averaged those stats above, would you not put any blame on him? Or just blame everyone else? Would you say he has been "insanely succesful"? I am sure many Saints fans would not. That was my original point.
Again, let me make the point. If the offense does not improve and Carr is our QB, then yes, he merits some of the blame. If you think his stats are not improveable then you really are setting the bar mediocre dude. I am not expecting him to come here and throw for 50 touchdowns, 6000 yards and lead us to the Super Bowl. But if he doesn't make the team better then yes, he should take some of the blame. You seem very against that.
That is as much as I will say on the matter. I am not sure why you are trying to paint the picture that I called him a bad QB or something. Carr is a decent Quarterback, I said that above. But if we want to improve more than just scraping a putrid division win, he will and can be better. His ceiling is higher than the stats above and with this roster there are no excuses. Quit acting like no matter what he does he is immune from any blame. Be rational.
