Indeed. I read he wrote a letter to Rick asking him for a ride with HMS a few years ago and people are joking now about the letter. Just another angle to a cool story. Would be funny as hell if he won in the 9.
In certain racing circles it would be beyond epic if he won in the 9. His dad was in that recent top 75 greatest drivers deal and he never really sniffed a win in the Cup series because he never had decent equipment - Corey finally getting that family a win in a Hendrick car would just be epic.
I don't think that kind of track is his wheelhouse but gonna be fun for sure. I just hope he has a strong run that he's capable of. Barring an incident or failure, I'd say top 15 is probably his minimum to call it a good day, top 10 would be something he could be proud about and feel validated, top 5 would be a huge stamp on his resume and might get him a better ride, and a win would be bonkers.
