I do agree that the existence of ETI is incompatible with the most simplistic Christian theological systems. But ironically, the world of Christian thought is much deeper, wider, & more complex that the average American Joe assumes.

IMO, I don’t know of one creedal foundation of Christianity that would be in jeopardy with the revelation of ETI’s existence.

What about the belief that the Earth is only 6,000 years old? And many believe that the Bible tells them the Earth is flat with a dome of water covering it. The more contemporary christians may not have a problem with ETIs, but there is a large majority that will claim they aren't aliens but are servants of the devil.
