I know what the reality is but, there are many, many, that still subscribe to the Old Testament description of the universe vehemently. If they haven't changed their belief about the nature of the universe by now, will they change their view if ETIs show up? Or will they implode and result in violent protests? Are the aliens going to be another intelligent species or agents of the devil?
