USMNT - ‘23 and beyond

It’s interesting- after WC there were hardly any full throated ggg supporters
The bell curve seemed to go from:
meh he did ok, to;
props to him for getting us here but he underperformed with the talent he had and really pooped the bed with his post tourney flubs, to of course;
he never should have been hired and his inclusion screams of corruption and ineptitude in USSF
(I was in middle part of bell curve)

now after the initial spasm of negative reactions, we have a torrent of ggg defenders- seemingly louder and more numerous than any pro-ggg noise in his entire tenure- I don’t think they’re bots, but they certainly act like bots

Its very odd. Not counting the Reyna debacle and the domestic abuse stuff, I just never got on the Berhalter train. The people saying he had a "succesful WC", I just dont get it. We had draws with Wales and Eng, beat a very weak Iran team 1-0, and he got Van Gaal'd in the KO round. We score 3 goals in 4 matches, and 1 of them by Haji was a complete accident. Bob Bradley and Klinsmann both got to the KO, Klinsmann got out of a group with Germany and Prime CR Portugal - and was a Wondo chip shot away from pushing Belgium to get to the QF. Arena MADE the QF. Its not like he did something special.

But youre right, and Im trying not to be tin foil hat here, USSF really has done some shady things in all of this from leaking the decision 5 min before US-MX to the "rigourous 10 hour days" and highly technoligically worded testing procedures with candidates - all with a guy who just started the job in Crocker. Id love for anyone who actually did this exhausting hiring process to come forward. I guarantee Jesse Marsch got a phone call. MLS played a huge role in this. We have to have someone who will continue to call in guys like Jordan Morris and Roldan and Acosta and Arriola and waste roster spots and piss off players like Pepi who got left at home in favor of JESUS FERREIRA.

Anyway, it is what it is at this point. We have to root for our NT in spite of that decision.
