But this guy let people pay $250,000 to go 2.5 mile s to the bottom of the ocean in a submersible controlled by a $40 video game joystick. Where he draws the line with safety falls to the level of irresponsibility.
The NHRA, NASCAR, F1, NFL, etc all have much more stringent safety regulations for enterprises that have been around for over 100 years, and yet they don't pretend to have all the bugs worked out.
All of the above said, and all other posts aside, I feel terrible for the people on that submersible. No one should have to go out like that. I can't imagine, and won't try to. Blessings to them and their families.
