Titanic submersible es morte

Without veering too much into politics, there is a definite degradation of empathy in this society. I'm not sure why people would be shocked that there is little sympathy for billionaires spending absurd amounts of money on a risky venture with someone who a bare amount of diligence would reveal had contempt for safety standards, when we see mocking of the margins of our society all the time.

Kindness, and empathy are in short supply these days. And no, empathy isn't just offering thoughts and prayers when 20 children die in a mass shooting; or saying, wow it really sucks that Bob went bankrupt after getting cancer and losing his home because his insurance was crappy; or saying good job kid for raising money to pay off your classmates school lunch; or so on... It's actually doing something about it. Not standing for people being butt crevasses - but calling them out for it. Not just saying - "well what can we do, that's just the way the world works"... it's actually doing something even if that something makes you a little uncomfortable.

It's like a frog being boiled alive... we've become more and more numb to the amount of suffering around us.
