HOF Chances Among Active Coaches According To The 33RD Team

Lovie Smith’s totals really surprised me.
Lovie Smith had 3 losing season in 9 years with the Bears, while winning COTY, taking his team to a Super Bowl 1 season and getting them to an NFC championship game another one. He was fired after they missed the playoffs after going 10-6 (tie-breaker). What screwed Lovie was the Bucs being the Bucs and then becoming "tank commander" for the Texans. Urlacher said the Bears are suffering from the "Lovie Smith curse." lol

Is Payton really a QB wizard? I can credit him with putting restrictions on players like Winston to keep them from losing the game. But I just don't know if he's to credit for the success of Brees. He never developed anyone into a starter not named Drew.
Those "restrictions" had more to do with our team construction more than Winston; you know, the whole busted O-line, UDFAs, etc, etc. Things opened up after the Giants game.
But I credit Coach Payton with knowing how to put a QB in position to win. There is no such thing as a QB wizard per se, as much as it is building a system for a QB. That is what separates the good coaches. He built the offensive system around what Drew did in San Diego and added his "great game planner" sprinkles to it as well. The whole "fit the system" is not a CSP thing because he builds the system around the QB.
